Almost no material is out of bounds for contemporary jewellery, which can be inventive and imaginative.

In this introductory course students will be taught basic jewellery making techniques to enable them to create a unique piece of jewellery of their own design. Students will use various construction methods and be introduced to a variety of materials, such as copper, brass and silver.

The option to experiment with acrylics, wood, slate and other non-precious materials is available.

Students will gain experience of saw-piercing, texturing, roll-printing and soldering sheet metal and learning to apply cold connection techniques such as riveting to combine different materials.

The class will run from 6pm to 9pm for 10 weeks, with a one-week break for half-term on the 16th October. There are 5 places available.
